There’s a fairy tale that everyone knows. There was a witch, beautiful and kind. She helped everyone that went to her looking for care, guidance or friendship. She lived her life for others until she met the one that would corrupt her.
Corrupted, she was no longer the person that she had been and the people wanted her gone before she could turn on them. A hero came to their aid and kill her as well as the one that corrupted. The hero was rewarded for his good deed, becoming a king and married a beautiful princess.
It was a beloved fairy tale of many children. Bella was not one of them.
She had always felt there had been so much missing from the tale just as there had been so much missing from her life.
She wanted more out of life beyond the servitude to her family. She wanted more than her little village would give her. She didn’t want the prince of her kingdom to love her.
She wanted to be more than the nickname her stepsisters called her. She wanted to be more than Cinderella.
